I committed myself to 90 in 09 on Jan 5, 2009. Since then I have lost 20 pounds. More importantly though, my relationship with the Lord is so much deeper than before. Mike, the videos you have on the site have been extremely inspiring to me. You are so real and honest about your struggles and at the same time help me to want to continue this journey when the going gets rough. I have met wonderful people on the 90 in 09 forum site and their posts and stories are also a big part of my success.

From Trainer Scottie Reall:
Exercise is essential for weight loss
It's nothing new, but exercise is probably the most important predictor of whether you will succeed at long term weight loss and weight loss maintenance. In order for exercise to be helpful in weight loss, you should strive for a minimum of five 30 minute sessions per week. The good news is that recent research has shown that three 10 minute sessions in a day are as good as one 30 minute session. Therefore, the excuse of “having no time to work out” can be thrown out the window!

I am a mother of nine, and my youngest gift from the Lord is now 11 months old. I am diligently working at losing the extra pounds I have allowed myself to put on over the years. I feel so good when I am eating right and exercising regularly. That feeling of freshness and renewal just takes away all cravings for junk or "bad" food. God has given me the will and the strength so far, and I continue to rely on Him each day ~ not only in this area of my life, but all! So far, I have lost 30 lbs., and am feeling great! (I have 20lbs. to go to reach my goal!)

Hey Mike,

Greetings Mike,
My story is like a lot of other people out there.
I am an unemployed 41 year old man that is severely overweight. I saw your challenge on the k-love web site and decided to accept this along with you. I guess to kind of help carry a brothers burden. May the Father truly bless us with not only new and better health for our bodies, but also for our spirits.
God Bless- Dan

From Kandice Weaver, Mike's Wife: Hey Mike, We just wanted to tell you how proud we are of you! It's been an honor to watch the physical, emotional and most of all spiritual changes that God is doing through you during this process! I pray that God continues to give you will power each day to say no to the bad foods, determination to keep working out as you get stronger every day, and great insight as you dig deep into God's word for healing. You are an amazing leader for our family and I am so thankful you've been given this opportunity...

I was at home with a cold last week and saw your story on the 700 Club. I usually work days and cannot watch it. It was very inspiring as I am going through my own battle with my weight right now.

From Trainer Scottie Reall:
Stay focused on becoming healthy, not getting slim
Many people become more successful at long term weight loss when their motivation changes from wanting to be thinner to wanting to be healthier. Change your mindset to think about selecting foods that will help your body's health rather than worrying about foods that will affect your body's weight.

Today's Tip

Exercise five to six times per week for thirty minutes per day. Regular exercise of any type will promote health.
