Very important question!
Hi, I am a drummer and my church did Christ Is Come this morning. Much to my surprise and with all due respect, our MD printed the click track and arranged the song in 6/8 with the 1/8 note pulse at 166. When I listened to the song a couple days ago, I heard the feel as a 12/8 with the 1/4 note pulse at 111 with 1/8th note triplets as the subdivision. By the way the kick is placed in the groove and by the way the subdivision is implied by the drummer, a 12/8 feel at 111 seems to be the most logical way to feel and interpret the groove.
Please let me know how you do it. What tempo do you set your click to and how do you interpret the groove? This is how I did....
Tempo=111
1-2-3-4

___/_____Snare

I would really appreciate your input!
Thanks!
